I am always delighted by the interaction between the shapes of the rocks and mountains and the clarity of the light and colours of Central Australia. This image was taken at the Devil’s Marbles about 100km south of Tenant Creek. Just before sunrise the delicate bands of colour in the sky and the purity of the early morning light give life to the rocks, rendering their shapes in delicate colours. I find the transformation from solid rock to delicate and buoyant shapes wondrous.
