Infrared light is light just beyond the seeing range of the human eye. Many animals such as vampire bats and insects such as mosquitos can see infrared light which gives them an advantage under particular circumstances. Infrared photography lets us see a different view of the world, one that is normally hidden from us. Here the Chlorophyll in the leaves of plants reflects infrared light making healthy leaves bright. The result is a surreal image where the leaves are reflecting so much infrared light that they look almost ghostly.
