In the West McDonald Ranges of the Northern Territory the original Australians have used coloured ochre from these cliffs in their ceremonies and storytelling for millennia. A tree with leaves as red as the red ochre grows from the cliff face. Its colours are of the very rock it inhabits and it blends perfectly with the cliff face in a profusion of abstract pattern and hues that are unique to this amazing region of Australia.
