Is our thirst for energy destroying our environment? This work is a composite of two images taken in the Western Downs region of Queensland. High voltage power lines stride across the land, testament to our need for power. In the sky the colours and patterns of the bark of a tree growing in the nearby town of Dalby become raging flames, representing the catastrophic bushfires of early 2020 that devastated Australia's native animals. The effects of human induced climate change could no longer be dismissed. How do we reconcile our need for power and our responsibility to the natural world and its creatures?
