Over the years I have used a variety of equipment from Richo SLR in younger days to Mamiya medium format film cameras to my current range of equipment which is almost exclusively Canon. I use Canon 5DSr and Canon 5D Mark II digital cameras with a range of Canon L series lenses including the 24 - 70 mm F 1:2.8, 16 - 35 mm F 1:2.8, 70 - 200 F 1:4 IS, a 100 - 400mm F 1:4-5.6 L IS II, a 50mm F 1:1.8 and a 1.4 Canon extender.
Permanance of Printed Images
The Images are printed using Epson K3 inks. When displayed under glass the prints have been tested by Wilhelm Research and it is estimated that the time period before noticable fading and/or changes in colour balance is 69 years. When displayed under UV absorbing glass the life of the print is 125 years. Without any covering the print life is 39 years. (Taken from the Canson website)
Mounting and Framing
If you are purchasing an unmounted print the mounting and framing of the print would be best done by a professional. Give the print to the framing professional in the transport tube. If you are mounting the photograph yourself then take great care as the photographs are fragile. When you are ready to mount the print gently unroll the print weigh down between a clean table top and a clean board. During this process leave the print covered on both sides with the tissue paper supplied with the print. Leave for a few days until the print will lie flat. Always use top quality "acid free" mounting materials.
